This term I went swimming at Otara Swimming Pool with my Dad, to help me with my fitness. I like to swim because it is fun, and I get to exercise at the same time. I am also in the Samoan Youth group, and every Friday we play games, and do different activities. At school I enjoy playing with my friends. We play
tiggy and run around the school.Anyway, will keep you posted
on my next fun exercise, next term.

basketball
There are 5 players on each team. Each player dribbles the ball, and tries to shoot the ball into the hoop. I have learnt that basketball is a team game. The warm ups have been hard and physical.
I have also learnt how to dribble the ball, chest pass and do cool moves with the basketball. Anyway I have had a blast playing basketball, Give it a Go....

Long Bay Trip
Long Bay trip On Monday 7th of April year 7 and 8 students from rooms 9 and 10 went by bus on a trip to Long Bay Regional Park to learn about survival skills in the wild.
Once we arrived at the park, we assembled
under the shelter, and Sandra who was a park ranger introduced the rest of her team to us.
Sarah, james and Maureen along with Miss Atuahiva and Tevita accompanied my group on our hike to Green Bay. Sarah showed us how to read a map, and we got to pick where we wanted to go. Students took turns at being a team leader, and a tail charlie(person at end of line)
Next we found ourselves pitching up tents on our own and learning how to be safe when using a hobo stove. The exciting part was frying my own sausage (YUMMY)
After lunch it was off to make a make shift stretcher, using two pieces of long wood and four jumpers.
Each of us had turns pretending to be injured. Morag, who is a park ranger , showed us how to carry the stretcher. It wasn’t easy. The hardest part was actually carrying the patient without dropping them.
Finally the bus arrived to pick us up. I sat on the bus tired and weary from my day, thinking about what I learned, with my eyes closed all the way back to school.Wednesday, 9 April 2014

Next we went with Laura to the rainforest to see the native birds, and native trees. Flying above us I could see the Kereru, and the fantail birds.
Richard showed us the Kiwi enclosure. Before that, we stopped to see the big massive eels.
Richard explained to us when the female eels lay their eggs, they go all the way to Tonga.
After lunch my group went to explore the rest of the zoo. I saw a elephant, giraffe , cherval, seals and penguins, just to name a few.
I learned about each animals habitat, what country they came from, and the types of food they eat. I enjoyed my day at the zoo, next time i will come with my family.Wednesday, 2 April 2014
My dad
Hi there,
Read this book on Sunshine online. The story is about a boy's Dad who had a stroke and ended
up in a wheelchair. The boy was happy to have his Dad home again. He helps out as much as he
can, because of Dad being ill. This story makes me realize how important my Dad is to me.
